I'm posting!! Sorry it's been so long since I posted!

This post , I was asked to be a Guest Designer for this month on the Dueling Darlings. The kit was sent to me to make this card, with the idea to make a card with something you would NOT wear on it. So.....

The image used is from American Art Stamp (Body By); and it made me think of previous years in my life. Copics were used to color the image. In the background, I made a pattern of blocks, with a color band down the middle - similar to a quilt. That's why the word REMEMBER is used - remember those times. I would not wear a quilt to a party! Of course, the brad used is a coffee cup as these ladies are drinking coffee while they eat cookies and ponder.... and the DP used with chocolate chips is so good to frame the image with since cookies are in the image!

I've really enjoyed being a Guest Designer this month!!

And I promise not to wait so long between posts on my blog!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB!!

This is the next-to-the-last blog in the Blog Hop we've been having for Deb's birthday. What fun it has been! There are 7 blogs before this one in the hop - you should have been to all of them. The blog previous to this one is Donelda's Blog - Wiggy's World. If you missed it, you need to back up to it:

http://wiggysworldofcrafts.blogspot.com/

Sooo... we heard that Deb's favorite color is GREEN. My card has a LOT of green in it.

I used the image, Gavin the Giving Dragon from High Hopes. Gavin is bringing presents to Deb for her birthday. I used Copic pens to color the image, using colors B02, B29, G12, RV14, RV17, V04, Y28, YG03, and Y45. He is cut out and mounted on YoYo Yellow cardstock, that is then mounted on Brilliant Blue Textured cardstock, Some presents are pasted on the ribbon under his picture. Small "bling" stars are on the outer circle of cardstock.

Inside of the card, you will see another High Hopes stamp, Birthday Fish. This image is also colored with Copics; colors B000, Bg10, BG18, and YR68 were used on this image. Clear Glitter Glue is used on the bubbles in the water in this image.

In the final section of this card - the lower part of the inside - I have used more High Hopes images for the Birthday Cake and candles seperate from the cake image. Copics were used to color all images, and numbers B24, B32, B41, G0000, G05, RV29, Y02, and Y35. Clear Glitter Glue is used on the candle flames to highlight them. The cake is cut out and mounted on Bright Pink cardstock, and then on a larger circle of green cardstock. Small "bling" stars are on the outer circle.

The candles that are seperate from the cake image were also colored with Copics, numbers B24, G07, G12. R27, Y02, Y35, and YG45. Again, Clear Glitter Glue is used for highlighting the flames.
The verse on this page is SO appropriate - Make A Wish!

Next, go to Deb's blog and wish her Happy Birthday!!

http://frecklefacepw.blogspot.com/2010/09/50.html

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB! Have a FANTASTIC day!!

Another NEW High Hopes Artist will be coming out next week! So, I decided to do some stamping.

This week's High Hopes Challenge #83 is Use Your Favorite Embellishment. I like nautical things, since I live near the water. So, I used a new High Hopes stamp, Pelican Post, in the card I made.

I used blue textured cardstock on the left side, with ribbon tied in a knot on the cardstock. The Pelican Post stamp is colored with Copics E27, E30, E33, and Y35. The Designer paper of the water is torn, and the water and Pelican Post stamp are mounted on Designer paper that resembles sky. A light brown plaid Designer paper is behind the picture. Small seashells are placed on the corners of the picture.

The inside of the card also has nautical prints and stamps related to water. I used the stamp Choppers Chilaxin' on the inside of the card. This beaver looks like he is relaxing in the hot weather! The image is colored with Copics E15, E27, G5, G12, RV14, Y02. Y35, and YR68. After cutting the image out to have him float on water Designer paper that I had torn, I placed foam on the back of the image so he would look afloat. Sky colored Designer paper was used in the background.

The lower part of the inside of the card has a seashell print Designer paper in the background. I tied a square knot in some cords and placed them over some scrap textured cardstock that I had. The crabs were punches out of Real Red cardstock.

Enjoy!

This week has a lot of celebrating!! July 1 was Canada Day, and July 4 will be Independence Day for the US!

SO - this High Hopes stamp made me think of the summer celebrations. My family has always had a picnic on July 4 - Hmmm...

The stamp, Grillin' Joseph, and the saying Fire Up The Grill go together so well. I used Copic colors Booo, B95, C1, E00, E27, E35, R29, and Y35 to color the image. The verse was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After the image was colored, I went around the edges with Copic 100 to outline the image, and used a slim line marker to outline the letters on the hat, so it would look like a youngster had done it to his hat. I used Designer Papers with many stars and patriotic imaging on it to decorate the card. I cut out the image after I had colored it with Copic pens. I used colors R27, R29, Y35, W1, W3, W5, and went around the edge of the picture with 100. I used a Blender Pen to make the gray feathers look shaded. a Glitter pen was used on feather marks, and and on marks on the feet. Foam Adhesive circles are used to raise the image.

I used cardstock pieces for the front, dry embossing them with Cuttlebug folders. Under Ms. Griffin, I used Nestabilities to cut out the cardstock and Designer paper used. The Dew Drops and flower are adhered to the card with extra sticky red tape.

Inside of the card, I used Designer papers that have a Nature theme.

On the top section, I stamped the Rock Wall with Small Monkey Mike sitting on the wall. These images were also colored with Copics. On the wall, I used E30, G05, G07, RV09, RV11, W1 and W5; the edges of the images were traced around with 100. These images were also raised with Foam Adhesive Circles.

On the lower section, I used Copics to color all images on this section. Stanley Snake is colored with E35, G05, G12, R27, RV14, and YG03. Mushroom #2 is colored with B000, G05, V12, and RV09.

The Cardstock in the middle of the page is Natural White (Stamping Up), surrounded by a small piece of a green cardstock with raised dots on it.

WOW!! On the front of the card, I used a DP that leeked "springy" as well as Easter eggs on ribbon. Cardstocks used on the front of the card are Pixie Pink, and white cardstock. The rabbit stamp, Fast Eddie, as well as the verse are from the latest stamps that Dustin made for High Hopes. The eggs on the bottom of the picture are punched out of scraps of DP that I had; also, 2 of the eggs, as well as the verse are "popped out", using Pop Dots. The rabbit carrying the basket, the basket, and eggs in the basket were colored with Copics, using colors C1, E30, R27, R81, RV14, V0000, V17, and Y17.

Inside of the card, DP was used on the upper part that had words and sayings about spring. Pacific Point cardstock was used for the corners. On the lower section, Barely Banana cardstock was used in the background, and Green Galore cardstock was used to make the grass, which was punched out. The stamp used for the lower portion is On Top of The World from High Hopes. This image was put in the grass, but was also "popped out" with the Pop Dots. Copics used to color this image are: B02, G05, RV14, V04, Y13, Y17, and V17.

WOW!! I didn't realize I hadn't been on yet this year! Sorry - we've had computer problems that have not let me post on here .

This card is a get well card I made for a friend. The Dragon on the front is a High Hopes dragon, Huggable Hank. I colored Hank with Copic pens, colors G07, G12, and YG03.

Paper used has been crumpled and torn, so it resembles dragon skin. Certainly Celery CS is used as the base card, and CS used on the front is Wild Wasabi , YoYo Yellow, and Crushed Curry. Ribbon used has light green "bling" on the dots on the ribbon.

The inside of the card has a dragon on one part of the inside - Dwight , from the latest High Hopes stamps. Grass has been punched out from a punch for grass, with DP in the background. Dwight, sitting on his toadstool blowing bubbles, has been fit among the grass, and raised off of the DP with the use of pop Dots. Bubbles blown are also raised.

Copic Colors used to color Dwight are B16, V12, and V17. The toadstool is colored with RV09, RV17 and Y17. Bubbles are highlighted with B0000, adn the bubble wand used to blow bubbles is colored with R27.

The looped area on the opposite side is made from Absolutely Apricot CS, and the High Hopes phrase on the looped area is stamped on Bashful Blue CS. This should be a happy card for them when the person gets it!

Winter Wonderland

BRRR!! It's getting colder here! It was made according to the layout for this challenge. The CS used in the background is a textured Bazzill CS I found in a local scrapbook store. The DP I used has glitter on it, as well as the verse "Winter Wonderland". The eskimo and seal were colored with Copic Sketch pens, and artificial snow was used for the eskimo and seal to "sit" on. In the scalloped circle used as a background behind the seal and eskimo I was certain to use a DP with snow falling. In the upper Left corner of the card front are 2 snowflakes, with small "bling" in the center of both of them. Dew Drops were used in the upper Right corner of the card's front. The verse on the front is also a High Hopes stamp.

Inside of the card, I used a DP that has snowmen printed on one side, and snowflakes printed on the reverse side. The ribbon I placed at the top and the bottom of the snowman print has a small amount of glitter in the center of the snowflakes. On the side of the DP with snowflakes, I placed 3 "bling" snowflakes of a dark blue color so they would stand out.

BRRR!! I haven't been on for such a long time due to things that had to be done!! SORRY!!

This image is for the High Hopes Stamps Challenge #54. Santa is coming down the chimney!
I colored the images of Santa and the presents with Copic pens; and trimmed around the circle template from Nestabilities, leaving part of the image outside of the circle. Artificial snow with glitter was used on the roof. Copic #B000 was used to add some color to the rim of the circle. Ribbon used around the top of the card is a sheer white ribbon with some glitter in it. The green ribbon used was used to accentuate the green in the Basic Grey Designer Paper behind the image.

Inside of the card, I kept snowy scenes. The Designer Paper is Basic Grey. On the upper section, I put white CS, with the snow with glitter on it. I continued to use the artificial snow on the trees that were punched out of dark green CS. The paper on this square has small images of Santa with a reindeer on it, along with images of children dressed for cold weather.

The paper used in the lower square has a winter scene of houses with Christmas trees and bare trees. The quote is a High Hopes quote. Paper behind the quote was punched with the Martha Stewart "loopy" punch.

Stay warm and enjoy!!

Time to Work!!

Miss Zoe looks SO happy!!

This image, as well as the papers and some of the embellishments were included in a High Hopes Card Kit Swap I hosted. He looks like he's ready to celebrate! Gavin and the presents he carries are colored with Copics. Glitter pens are used on Gavin for his scales and his teeth. The Yellow-Orange package he is carrying has streamers on it that are colored with a blue glitter pen. SU Cardstocks, and other DPs are used to make this card. The phrase shown is from a DP for birthdays. The only cardstock that is not SU is the White Cardstock that is used for images. All stamping is done with Memento black ink.

The inside of the card has DP on both sections. Ribbon is used to celebrate the birthday. A Clear glitter pen is used on the candles on the cake in the upper section, and the presents at the bottom are colored with Copics. Jolie looks SO happy watching that worm on the leaf!

I colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers, using strokes to make the grass look like real grass. I wanted to use bright colors, and also to have flowers on the DP used below the image. The flowers on the card were sent to me by a friend, and they matched the card colors so well I had to use them!

The DP used inside the card has pictures of animals, and phrases relating to the animals and their behavior in the wild, during the spring. The verse used in the card is also from High Hopes:

The kiss of the sun for pardon,

the song of the birds for mirth.
One is nearer God's heart in a garden

Than anywhere else on earth.
- Dorothy Frances Burney

Again, I used a flower on the inside of the card that was sent to me by a friend.
I know it's Autumn now, but I think this stamp is so very cute!!
