FINALLY!! I'm posting!! Sorry it's been so long since I posted!

This post , I was asked to be a Guest Designer for this month on the Dueling Darlings. The kit was sent to me to make this card, with the idea to make a card with something you would NOT wear on it. So.....

The image used is from American Art Stamp (Body By); and it made me think of previous years in my life. Copics were used to color the image. In the background, I made a pattern of blocks, with a color band down the middle - similar to a quilt. That's why the word REMEMBER is used - remember those times. I would not wear a quilt to a party! Of course, the brad used is a coffee cup as these ladies are drinking coffee while they eat cookies and ponder.... and the DP used with chocolate chips is so good to frame the image with since cookies are in the image!

I've really enjoyed being a Guest Designer this month!!

And I promise not to wait so long between posts on my blog!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEB!!

This is the next-to-the-last blog in the Blog Hop we've been having for Deb's birthday. What fun it has been! There are 7 blogs before this one in the hop - you should have been to all of them. The blog previous to this one is Donelda's Blog - Wiggy's World. If you missed it, you need to back up to it:

Sooo... we heard that Deb's favorite color is GREEN. My card has a LOT of green in it.

I used the image, Gavin the Giving Dragon from High Hopes. Gavin is bringing presents to Deb for her birthday. I used Copic pens to color the image, using colors B02, B29, G12, RV14, RV17, V04, Y28, YG03, and Y45. He is cut out and mounted on YoYo Yellow cardstock, that is then mounted on Brilliant Blue Textured cardstock, Some presents are pasted on the ribbon under his picture. Small "bling" stars are on the outer circle of cardstock.

Inside of the card, you will see another High Hopes stamp, Birthday Fish. This image is also colored with Copics; colors B000, Bg10, BG18, and YR68 were used on this image. Clear Glitter Glue is used on the bubbles in the water in this image.

In the final section of this card - the lower part of the inside - I have used more High Hopes images for the Birthday Cake and candles seperate from the cake image. Copics were used to color all images, and numbers B24, B32, B41, G0000, G05, RV29, Y02, and Y35. Clear Glitter Glue is used on the candle flames to highlight them. The cake is cut out and mounted on Bright Pink cardstock, and then on a larger circle of green cardstock. Small "bling" stars are on the outer circle.

The candles that are seperate from the cake image were also colored with Copics, numbers B24, G07, G12. R27, Y02, Y35, and YG45. Again, Clear Glitter Glue is used for highlighting the flames.
The verse on this page is SO appropriate - Make A Wish!

Next, go to Deb's blog and wish her Happy Birthday!!

Another NEW High Hopes Artist will be coming out next week! Be sure to check out the blog!!

Well, it's hot here! So, I decided to do some stamping.
This week's High Hopes Challenge #83 is Use Your Favorite Embellishment. I like nautical things, since I live near the water. So, I used a new High Hopes stamp, Pelican Post, in the card I made.

I used blue textured cardstock on the left side, with ribbon tied in a knot on the cardstock. The Pelican Post stamp is colored with Copics E27, E30, E33, and Y35. The Designer paper of the water is torn, and the water and Pelican Post stamp are mounted on Designer paper that resembles sky. A light brown plaid Designer paper is behind the picture. Small seashells are placed on the corners of the picture.

The inside of the card also has nautical prints and stamps related to water. I used the stamp Choppers Chilaxin' on the inside of the card. This beaver looks like he is relaxing in the hot weather! The image is colored with Copics E15, E27, G5, G12, RV14, Y02. Y35, and YR68. After cutting the image out to have him float on water Designer paper that I had torn, I placed foam on the back of the image so he would look afloat. Sky colored Designer paper was used in the background.

The lower part of the inside of the card has a seashell print Designer paper in the background. I tied a square knot in some cords and placed them over some scrap textured cardstock that I had. The crabs were punches out of Real Red cardstock.

Enjoy!

This week has a lot of celebrating!! July 1 was Canada Day, and July 4 will be Independence Day for the US!
SO - this High Hopes stamp made me think of the summer celebrations. My family has always had a picnic on July 4 - Hmmm...

The stamp, Grillin' Joseph, and the saying Fire Up The Grill go together so well. I used Copic colors Booo, B95, C1, E00, E27, E35, R29, and Y35 to color the image. The verse was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After the image was colored, I went around the edges with Copic 100 to outline the image, and used a slim line marker to outline the letters on the hat, so it would look like a youngster had done it to his hat. I used Designer Papers with many stars and patriotic imaging on it to decorate the card. Ribbon used on the front is decorated with stitching and reflective dots.

Inside of the card, I covered it with patriotic papers, the paper on the top has glitter as well as stars and stripes on it. On the lower page, three different papers are used underneath the white section in the middle. Papers used have red, white, and blue coloring, as well as many stars.

Have Fun!!

WOW! High Hopes really had some neat NEW stamps!!
I decided to use some "old" High Hopes stamps in this week's challenge #81 - Anything Goes!!

On the front of the card, I used the stamp Ms. Griffin. I cut out the image after I had colored it with Copic pens. I used colors R27, R29, Y35, W1, W3, W5, and went around the edge of the picture with 100. I used a Blender Pen to make the gray feathers look shaded. a Glitter pen was used on feather marks, and and on marks on the feet. Foam Adhesive circles are used to raise the image.
I used cardstock pieces for the front, dry embossing them with Cuttlebug folders. Under Ms. Griffin, I used Nestabilities to cut out the cardstock and Designer paper used. The Dew Drops and flower are adhered to the card with extra sticky red tape.

Inside of the card, I used Designer papers that have a Nature theme.
On the top section, I stamped the Rock Wall with Small Monkey Mike sitting on the wall. These images were also colored with Copics. On the wall, I used E30, G05, G07, RV09, RV11, W1 and W5; the edges of the images were traced around with 100. These images were also raised with Foam Adhesive Circles.
On the lower section, I used Copics to color all images on this section. Stanley Snake is colored with E35, G05, G12, R27, RV14, and YG03. Mushroom #2 is colored with B000, G05, V12, and RV09.
The Cardstock in the middle of the page is Natural White (Stamping Up), surrounded by a small piece of a green cardstock with raised dots on it.
